Song-Watermelon, Watermelon
To the Tune of Frere Jacques
Watermelon, Watermelon
On a vine, on a vine
Sweet and red and juicy
Sweet and red and juicy
Please be mine
Please be mine
4.)
5.) Flannel/Song
I used this flannel along with my numbers flannel and we counted together as each child brought up their watermelon piece and another child brought up their number piece. After we were all done we then sang:
One Little Watermelon
One little, two little, three little watermelons.
Four little, five little, six little watermelons
Seven little, eight little, nine little watermelons
Ten watermelons in a row!
6.)
7.)
Flannel and Puppet-5 Red Strawberries!
I put all five strawberries up on the board and Brown Bear came out and he was HUNGRY! Bear ate every strawberry during this rhyme:
5 red strawberries. Sweet to the core. Bear came up and ate one and then there were 4.
4 red strawberries. Growing near a tree. Bear came up and ate one and then there were 3.
3 red strawberries, for you and you and you. Bear came up and ate one and then there were 2.
2 red strawberries, sitting in the sun. Bear came up and ate one and then there was 1.
1 red strawberry left all alone. Bear came up and ate it and then there was none!
8.) Song-Baby Bumblebee
I’m bringing home my baby bumblebee
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me.
I’m bringing home my baby bumblebee.
OUCH! It stung me!
I’m squishing up my baby bumblebee.
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me.
I’m squishing up my baby bumblebee.
Ew! Yucky!
I’m wiping off my baby bumblebee
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me
I’m wiping off my baby bumblebee
Yay! All clean!
9.)
10.)
I didn’t get to this but by using the flannel pieces I already made I wanted to sing this song and have each child bring up a different flannel food piece to the board.
On a Picnic We Will Go
to the tune of Farmer in the Dell
On a picnic we will go. On a picnic we will go. Let’s fill out picnic basket up. On a picnic we will go.
(Name of child) brings a (food item). Let’s fill our picnic basket up. (Name of child) bring s a(food item)
11.)
I was able to get a kit that had enough books for the whole group and we all read Jamberry together!
12.)
Then I did a flannel that I got from Jbrary and added a bit to it. I used my numbers flannel along with this new one so that every child had something to bring up to the board. Below is the video of Jbrary doing this flannel song/story!
13.)
5 Hungry Ants
Below is the flannel board I printed from ‘Literary Hoots’ and below that is Jbrary’s version of this song that I sang along with this flannel board. This was a hit for the kids, especially the ACHOO part 🙂
