Today was all about ribbet-ribbet …… frogs 🙂 Here was the plan for the morning:
1.) Hello Song with maracas and scarves
2.) Book One: Jump!
3.) Song-Mmm Ahh Went the Little Green Frog
4.) Book and Number Flannel: A Frog in the Bog
5.) Song-Little Tadpole
6.) Book Pop Up: Big Frog Can’t Fit In
7.) Book and Flannel: Five Green and Speckled Frogs
8.) Book and Flannel: One Frog Sang
9.) Book and Flannel: Turtle Splash
10.) Song and Puppet: Tiny Time
11.) Goodbye Song with Maracas and Scarves
I used my number flannel to keep this book interactive. It goes up to 5.
Little Tadpole Song to the tune of Frere Jacques from JocoLibrary
Little Tadpole, Little Tadpole,
Lost his tail, Lost his tail,
First he had just two feet, now he has four feet.
Look a frog! Look a frog!
I took pictures of the frogs in this book to make it so that the kids could interact with the story. Easy to laminate and attach felt to them. I had a few sets of five so that everyone could have a chance to play.
I used the numbers flannel with this book as well and it counts all the way to 10!
Love this book and activity! Had a frog in it so I brought it back again 🙂 One of my favorites! I had kids put all the turtles up and grab one animal each. Then when their animal came up in the story they brought animal up and took one turtle at a time down.
