Toddler Storytime-Valentine’s Day

Today was all about a holiday that I love due to all the candy and treats you can get 🙂 Valentine’s Day! I  had a great group that came and was totally involved and excited!

Here  is what our plan was for the morning together:

1.) Hello Song with Lambchop

2.) Book One: How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You

3.) Song-Ten Little Fingers

4.) Book Two: Where is Baby’s Valentine

5.) Flannel/Book: My Heart is like a Zoo

6.) Song/Instruments: H.E.A.R.T

7.) Book Four: I’m Going to Give you a Bear Hug

8.) Song/Instruments: Skinnamarink

9.) Book/Flannel: The Cow Loves Cookies

10.) Rhyme: I Put My Hands Together

11.) Goodbye Song with Lambchop

Ten Little Fingers-Jbrary

I have one, I have two, I have three little fingers.

I have four, I have five, I have six little fingers.

I have seven, I have eight, I have nine little fingers.

Ten little fingers on my hands.

More verses on Jbrary’s video 🙂

Flannel/Book: This is one of my favorite books.  I give the kids each an animal and when their animal comes up in the story they get to bring it up to the flannel board.  They love getting to help me tell a story.

Song with Instruments.

I gave each of the kids and their parents maracas, spelt out heart on the flannel board, and we sang this song…

There is a shape and it means love and heart is it’s name-o

H.E.A.R.T H.E.A.R.T. H.E.A.R.T and heart is its name-o

Favotie Song EVER 🙂 and stuck in my head for the rest of the day!

Skinnamarink…Here is the link for Jbrary’s version.  It is better to watch and listen to it than for me to try and spell it out 🙂

Same  thing here as I did for the previous flannel…

Teach the kids how to make a heart with their hands. I got this from Jbrary.

I put my hands together.  This is how you start.  I curve my fingers right around and I can make a heart.

Thanks for reading! Next week is gumdrop day, all about candy 🙂
