Hello Song with Lamb Chop

We clap and sing hello.  We clap and sing hello.  With our friends at storytime, we clap and sing hello.  We stomp and sing hello.  We stomp and sing hello.  With our friends at storytime we stomp and sing hello.  We wave and sing hello.  We wave and sing hello. With our friends at storytime, we wave and sing hello.

This is a very cute book that you could sing as a song as well.  The kids really loved it 🙂

This is an adorable book and such a fun read with the kids.  It is a lift and flap book and all of Little Blue Truck’s friends are dressed up.  The kids get to guess who is under the costume before you reveal it by lifting the flap.  I think this is one of my favorite interactive books 🙂

I LOVE Pete the Cat so I was so happy to find a Halloween book of his.  I made a pumpkin flannel board to go along with this book.  The kids counted and brought up the pumpkins one at a time before we read the book.  After we read the book we did the rhyme as a finger play after.  So I had all of the kids put up five fingers and we did the 5 Little Pumpkins Rhyme.

Made it for ten just in case I had time for 10 Little Pumpkins

Five Little Pumpkins sitting on a gate.  The first one said, ‘Oh my it’s getting late’.  The second one said ‘There are witches in the air’.  The third one said, ‘But we don’t care!’.  The fourth one said, ‘Let’s run and run and run’.  The fifth one said ‘Let’s have some fun!’.  Oooooohhhhh went the wind and out went the lights and five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

So this rhyme followed exactly with this book but I found the motions and watch Jbrary’s version of this and LOVE it.  I recommend subscribing to their Youtube, they are AWESOME 🙂

This was a favorite for a lot of the kids from home so they got a kick out of having it read out loud during storytime!

Here’s a great song with motions that the kids loved that I got from Jbrary.  All of the motions are on their video, so check it out!

Pumpkin Chant

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pie

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, EYE

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Bread

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, HEAD

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Cake

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, SHAKE

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Stew

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, BOO!

This is one of my absolute favorite interactive flannel boards with accompanying book so far.  I really recommend taking the time to make it because the kids, the parents, and you will LOVE IT!

As you read this book the kids come up one at a time and TICKLE the flannel board monster and are able to get rid of the monster by building something else.  Let me show you…

So cool for the kids to see the change from the monster to the picture of the house and trees.  I then have the kids rebuild the tickle monster so that they know that they can get rid of it super easy so there is nothing to be afraid of.  GREAT FUN 🙂

So then I made a fun flannel board to go along with the topic of ghosts: Chocolate Chip Ghost

I got the print out and the story of the Chocolate Chip Ghost from Sunflower Storytime’s Blog.  Check it out!

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, On the Ground

I got this off of Jbrary’s site as well.  This is a great song to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle.  It teaches kids two new ASL signs which is great!

Pumpkin, pumpkin, on the ground.  How’d you get so big and round.

Once you were a tiny seed so small.  Now you are a great big ball.

Pumpkin, pumpkin, on the ground, how’d you get so big and round.

Song-Horns and Fangs from Jbrary

Horns, Fangs, Knees, and Claws, Knees and Claws.

Horns, Fangs, Knees, and Claws, Knees and Claws.

Eyes, Ears, Nose, and PAWS.

Horns, Fangs, Knees, and Claws, Knees and Claws.

Then we ended with our goodbye song with Lamb Chop.  Which is the same as our hello song just interchange hello with goodbye.

Thanks for reading! Please subscribe to stay tuned for upcoming fun! Next week is all about SUPERHEROES 🙂
